Box Score Moon Township, Pa. – In another electric second half performance by the
Robert Morris University men's lacrosse team, the Colonials fell victim to another slow start and ultimately dropped an 11-10 decision to Air Force Academy Saturday afternoon at Joe Walton Stadium.
Robert Morris (1-4) continued a recent trend and waged a late comeback, but Air Force (4-2) was able to successfully fend off the Colonials rally.
Senior attack
Luke Laszkiewicz scored a new career-high seven goals out of the Colonials' 10 goals on the day. Sophomore attack
Adrian Torok-Orban accounted for the remaining three goals, as he posted his second consecutive hat trick.
At 3:22 in the fourth quarter, Laszkiewicz hit the back of the net on a late game-tying tally to knot the score at 10 goals apiece. The game came down to the wire in the final minutes, but it was the Falcons who had the final word with a goal with 2:13 remaining in regulation to go ahead by one. The Colonials were unable to come up with another score and suffered another loss at the hands of their opponent's strong first half of action.
For the first time since Feb. 13, the Colonials will compete on the road, when they head to Mercer on Tuesday, March 8 for a 1 p.m. non-conference match up.
