Smithfield, R.I. - Robert Morris University women's lacrosse begins postseason play in the Northeast Conference tournament semifinals against Wagner under the lights Friday night on the campus of top-seed Bryant University.

RMU finished the regular season going 5-2 in the Northeast Conference, taking one win against NEC co-champ Bryant and one of two losses coming to the other co-champ Wagner.

The Colonials end the regular season with a 9-7 mark, the third straight year the team has completed the regular season above .500.

Head Coach Katy Phillips returned six seniors to this year's squad including two-time All-NEC midfielder Jessica Karwacki. Four of the top six scorers from 2015 have paced the Colonials offense this season: Corey Karwacki, Dana Davis, Brittany Byerly and Emily Jamison. Corey Karwacki was the leading scorer returning and has followed that up by leading the Colonials this season with 39 points on 24 goals and 15 assists.

Freshman Sarah Arnold, walk on Kaylee Coyle and redshirt senior Becky Schoenecker have backstopped the Colonials this season. Micah Brown, Megan Wolfgang and Megan Gold are RMU's defensive leaders along with newcomer Bailey Skubon.

LAST TIME OUT
The Colonials finished the regular season  splitting games with Wagner and Mount St. Mary's. Robert Morris took Wagner to overtime before the Seahawks won 10-9 with :17 left in the first OT. The Colonials topped the Mountaineers 8-6 on Senior Day to clinch the third seed in the conference tournament. Dana Davis, Corey Karwacki & Katie Breeze each scored two goals in the game against Wagner. Davis continued her scoring trend, scoring the first three goals against Mount St. Mary's and finished the game with four. Corey Karwacki also tallied a hat trick vs. the Mountaineers including the final two goals to clinch the win.

Five Robert Morris University women's lacrosse players earned Northeast Conference honors at the postseason awards banquet Thursday night ahead of the league's tournament championship weekend. Senior Jessica Karwacki and junior Megan Wolfgang were first team selections at attack and defense. Senior Corey Karwacki and sophomore Dana Davis were named to the all-NEC second team at attack and midfielder. Freshman Maggie Stella was named to the all-rookie team.

SPINNING RECORDS
Jessica Karwacki is the NCAA's all-time leader in draw controls, currently with 641 draw controls, recording a season-high 17 in the home victory over St. Bonaventure. Her career average, is tops in the nation at 9.88 per game. This season, Karwacki is averaging 6.50 draw controls per game, first in the NEC and 5th in the nation.

CAUSING A RUCKUS
The Colonials lead the NEC in caused turnovers, averaging 9.44 per game, ranked 23rd in the NCAA. Dana Davis leads RMU with 23, Megan Wolfgang has 20, Maggie Stella 16, Jessica Karwacki 13 and Micah Brown 12. Davis is also fifth in the NEC in caused turnovers, averaging 1.44 per game, 60th in the NCAA.

(GROUND) BALL SO HARD
Dana Davis is second in the NEC and 12th in the nation in ground balls per game, averaging 3.00. 

WINNING WAYS
The Class of 2016 has been a part of 37 victories, breakng the Class of 2015 mark of 36 wins, to become the winningest class in program history.

Dana Davis, Jessica Karwacki, Kerri Sayrafe, Brittany Byerly (twice) and Corey Karwacki (twice) have each scored at least five points in a game so far this season for the Colonials.
