Moon Township, Pa. – The
Robert Morris University golf team opened play in the Northern Kentucky Fall Classic Sunday in fourth place thanks to a two-round score of 584.
Playing at the Elks Run Golf Club in Batavia, Ohio, a course that features 6,845 yards and is a par 71, Dayton leads the field after the first day of action with a 567, one shot under par.
Oakland (576) and Stetson (580) rank second and third, respectively, while trailing the Colonials and rounding out the top 10 are Fort Wayne (586), NKU and Wright State, which each shot 590, Tennessee State (591), Green Bay (593) and Youngstown and Saint Francis U, which each posted a score of 596.
Four student-athletes from RMU rank in the top 25 individually, with sophomore
Daniel Franco Saad leading the way. He carded a 74 and a 72 Sunday and is one of seven players tied for 15th at 146.

Michael McMorrow are each tied for 22nd individually. Palmer produced the best round for Robert Morris Sunday with a 70 in the first round, while McMorrow shot a 73 and a 74.
Rounding out the top five for RMU is junior
Grant Schumaker, who is tied for 38th after producing a 150 Sunday. Sophomore
Ethan Sawyer also competed as an individual for Robert Morris, posting a 159.
The Colonials conclude play in the NKU Fall Classic Monday.
