Moon Township, Pa. – Robert Morris University junior linebacker
Adam Wollet was named to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District II team for the second consecutive season as announced by the organization on Thursday afternoon. The Colonials have had a representative on the All-District II team in every season dating back to 2003 with 27 total selections during that 15-year span.
For Wollet, it is the second consecutive season that he has been selected as an Academic All-District II member. He carries a 4.0 grade point average while majoring in both finance and management. CoSIDA's District II covers Delaware, the District of Columbia, Kentucky, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and West Virginia. As a result of the selection, Wollet advances to the national ballot for Academic All-America consideration.
Wollet leads the Colonials and the Northeast Conference and ranks 20th in the nation with 97 tackles through 10 games. The junior from Poland, Ohio, has recorded double-digit tackles in six contests this season including a career-high 16 tackles against Sacred Heart. He needs three more tackles in the season finale against Central Connecticut to become the first Colonial to record 100 stops in a season since Mike Cook accomplished the feat in 2013 with a team-record 117 tackles. Wollet also has four tackles for loss, two pass break ups and three quarterback hurries.
In his first season as a starter in his sophomore season, Wollet led the team with 89 stops and ranked 10th in the nation with two fumble recoveries. He logged 34 solo stops and 4.5 tackles for loss to go along with a half sack. He also broke up three passes.
Robert Morris wraps up the 2017 season Saturday, Nov. 18, when it travels to Central Connecticut for a Noon game at Arute Field against the NEC-leading Blue Devils.
