MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. – Former Robert Morris cornerback Rob Carter Jr. has signed a reserve/future contract with the Indianapolis Colts.
As a member of the Colonials during the 2023 and 2024 seasons, Carter Jr. appeared in 16 games. He finished his RMU career with 42 tackles, 12 passes defended, and three interceptions, one of which was returned for a touchdown. On special teams, he recorded 22 kickoff returns for 588 yards (26.7 avg.) and one touchdown, while also recording one blocked kick. He was a 2024 NEC Second Team All-Conference selection and was named to Phil Steele's All-NEC First Team.
Carter Jr. joins the Colts after playing the 2025 season with the BC Lions of the Canadian Football League (CFL). During his season in the CFL, he recorded 51 tackles, five interceptions (including one returned for a touchdown), and one forced fumble. He helped the Lions reach the Western Division finals.
Before transferring to Robert Morris, Carter Jr. played in 21 games at UVA Wise from 2021 to 2022. During those two seasons, he totaled 74 tackles, 17 passes defended, and seven interceptions. He also recorded 31 kickoff returns for 660 yards and one touchdown.
