- Robert Morris announced Thursday, January 19, 2017, in a press conference at the Charles L. Sewall Center it will break ground on the UPMC Events Center, a 140,000-square foot complex, in July. The Colonials will play their home games at Peoples Court, and the facility is slated to open in January of 2019. In addition, RMU extended the contract of head coach Andrew Toole one season through the 2020-21 campaign.

- While the UPMC Events Center is being built, Robert Morris will play its home games at PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh, Pa. The Colonials will play their entire slate in 2017-18 at the facility as well as its non-conference schedule in 2018-19. RMU posted a 2-0 record in the facility this season.

LIU Brooklyn Tidbits - In earning its second straight win at the Steinberg Wellness Center, the Colonials earned a split with the Blackbirds in the 2016-17 season series ... RMU improved to 43-31 (.581) all-time against LIU Brooklyn ... Robert Morris held a 41-35 edge in rebounding, with each team posting 10 offensive caroms ... The Colonials converted eight of their 10 attempts at the free-throw line in the final 1:55 and finished 18-for-23 overall, a success rate of 78.3 percent, a season high against a Northeast Conference foe ... Robert Morris posted six blocks, including a pair each from redshirt senior forward Aaron Tate and sophomore guard Matty McConnell ... Senior guard Kavon Stewart established a career high with nine rebounds ... LIU Brooklyn shot 58.3 percent (7-for-12) from beyond the arc, a season high by an RMU opponent.

Double Your Pleasure - Freshman guard Dachon Burke became the third member of the Colonials to record their first career double-double in 2016-17 by contributing 10 points and a career-high 10 rebounds in a 67-63 victory @ LIU Brooklyn (2/2/17). Burke reached the threshold by coming down with a defensive rebound off an Iverson Fleming miss with three seconds left and followed by sealing the victory courtesy of a pair of free throws with 1.9 seconds to go. Burke joined redshirt senior forward Aaron Tate and sophomore guard Matty McConnell in recording their first double-double this season.

Stars and Stripes - Senior guard Kavon Stewart enters Saturday's tilt @ St. Francis Brooklyn having reached double figures in nine of his last 11 games, including each of his last five contests. Included in that stretch, Stewart tied a season high in scoring with 21 points in a 74-67 victory over Central Connecticut (1/19/17). Against Northeast Conference opponents this season, Stewart is shooting 81.5 percent (53-for-65) at the chalk, which ranks ninth in the circuit. Thanks to an 11-for-13 performance at the line in a 67-63 win @ LIU Brooklyn (2/2/17), Stewart cracked the top five all-time at RMU for career free throws and owns 332. Over his last five games, Stewart is averaging 15.2 points per contest while scoring at a 13.2 points per game clip over his last 11 tilts.

Triple Threat - Thanks to the strong play of Kavon Stewart over the course of the last month, the senior guard has a chance to join an elite group at Robert Morris. Just two players in program history, former guards Forest Grant (1980-84) and Velton Jones (2008-13), have eclipsed career totals of 1,000 points, 500 assists and 200 steals. Stewart is RMU's active leader in each category, having compiled 911 points, 469 assists and 186 steals. He would need to produce averages of 12.7 points, 4.4 assists and 2.0 steals over the final seven games of the 2016-17 regular season to become the third player in school history to accomplish the feat.

Still Of The Night - Sophomore guard Isaiah Still helped the Colonials snap a three-game losing streak in a 67-63 victory @ LIU Brooklyn (2/2/17) by leading RMU in scoring with 21 points while grabbing five rebounds. Still has led Robert Morris in scoring in 13 of its 24 games this season and has reached double figures 16 times. Dating back to last season, Still has scored in double figures in 24 of his last 30 games, averaging 14.8 points per contest.
