The non-conference finale for the
Robert Morris University men's lacrosse team will take place under the lights of Joe Walton Stadium, when the Colonials host the Canisius College Golden Griffins on Tuesday, Apr. 18 at 7 p.m.
Robert Morris (8-4, 4-0 NEC) enjoyed a weekend free from competition, and enters the mid-week matchup following a road loss to then-No. 18/18 Virginia, 13-7. Canisius (5-6, 3-1 MAAC) dropped a tough, one-goal decision to Siena last Saturday, 11-10, and will compete in its second game in four days, with another contest scheduled for this Friday on its home field in Buffalo, N.Y.

Robert Morris versus Canisius
Canisius (5-6, 3-1 MAAC)
Robert Morris is 4-5 all-time against Canisius. The Colonials have won the last four meetings between the two programs, including a 15-6 victory in 2016. RMU is 2-2 against Canisius in Joe Walton Stadium.
Scouting Canisius
Canisius enters Tuesday night's non-conference tilt following a one-goal loss to Siena, 11-10, on Saturday. Junior Steven Coss scored three goals and added an assist to pace the Griffs. Senior Jeff Edwards dished out three assists, while junior Ryan McKee recorded two goals and chipped in one assist. Junior goalkeeper Liam Ganzhorn made seven saves. The Griffs held a 30-26 shot advantage through the contest. Coss tabbed his second career hat trick in the loss. Edwards' three assists helped him move into 14
th on the program's all-time scoring list (118). He ranks second on the team with 30 points, while junior Connor Kearnan paces the squad with 29 goals, 18 assists, and 47 points. The Griffs rank ninth in the nation in shot percentage (.337) and 12
th in man-up offense (.452).

Entering their non-conference meeting with the Virginia Cavaliers, Robert Morris was receiving votes in the USILA/Nike Division I Coaches Poll for the second time this season.

Alex Heger ranks second in the nation in saves per game (12.83) and sixth in save percentage (.586). He paces the NEC in both categories.

Ryan Smith were named NEC Player of the Week and NEC Rookie of the Week, respectively, for their career performances in RMU's 17-6 win against Wagner. Smith assisted on five of Schmidt's career-best six goals.

Ryan Smith ranks second in the NEC in shot percentage (.450). Smith has posted a point in nine of 11 games played, including the last five outings. He ranks third on the team in goals (18), tied for third in assists (7) and tied for second in points (25).

For the first time since 2012, the Colonials will play a game under the lights of Joe Walton Stadium, when they host Canisius on Tues., April 18 at 7 p.m. in a non-conference, evening clash.
