Moon Township, Pa. – The
Robert Morris University cross country team opened its 2017 season Saturday by taking part in the Duquesne Duals at Schenley Park in Pittsburgh, Pa.
Leading the way for the Colonials in their first event of the year was senior
Rachel Crane, who posted a time of 19:49.4 to finish 25th in the five-kilometer course. Senior
Maggie Prorok finished second for RMU, navigating the course in a time of 21:10.7 to claim 55th.
A pair of Colonials made their collegiate debuts Saturday at the Duquesne Duals, as freshman
Sami Felton and
Tara Richardson competed for the first time. Felton placed 63rd with a time of 21:39, while Richardson claimed 78th by crossing the finish line in 22:46.9.
Junior
Brynn Adams finished 72nd, recording a time of 22:13.1. Rounding out the afternoon for the Colonials was senior
Madeline Menzie, who finished at 23:57.8, and junior
Kelsey Swantek, who posted a time of 25:36.8.
Robert Morris continues its 2017 season by taking part in the Tommy Evans Invitational Thursday, Sept. 7, in Akron, Ohio.
