Moon Township, Pa. - Freshman
Kaitlyn Clark, a utility fielder on the
Robert Morris University softball team, was named the Northeast Conference Rookie of the Week. It marks the first time Clark has earned the league's weekly recognition.
Clark started five games as third base last week and posted a batting average of .500 and monster OPS of 1.583. The rookie utility player went 5-of-10 with two homers, a pair of doubles and four runs batted in while drawing two walks. She hit her first career homer in the opening game at LIU Brooklyn and collected her second dinger one day later at Sacred Heart. In addition to her plate prowess, Clark threw a perfect inning of relief against St. Bonaventure helping RMU to a sweep of the non-conference foe.
The Colonials are scheduled to take on Youngstown State in a non-conference doubleheader at North Athletic Complex, Wednesday, April 18, at 3:00 p.m.
