Moon Township, Pa. – The
 Robert Morris University rowing team had its final meet prior to the 2018 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Championships Saturday by competing in the Black Rock Invitational, hosted by Canisius College, in Buffalo, N.Y.
The RMU Varsity Eight posted a time of 7:56.06 in the Petite Final to earn silver, with sophomore 
Kestra Harris serving as the coxswain. She was joined in the boat by freshman 
Molly McGuire, junior 
Hannah Daman, senior 
Melissa Asaro, juniors 
Grace Faye and 
Miriam Levenson, freshman 
Madelyn Green, sophomore 
Elizabeth Cottrell and senior 
Lindsay Feltz.
The Robert Morris Second Varsity Four finished first, outlasting the host Golden Griffins by recording a time of 8:46.66. The boat consisted of junior 
Kathryn Gossel, sophomore 
Sophie Carroll and freshmen 
Katy Cooke and 
Satalia Rickman. Serving as the coxswain was junior 
Sarah Heastings.

Also in Petite Final action, the Second Varsity Eight also earned silver with a time of 7:49.54. Rookies made up the majority of the boat, with freshmen

In Varsity Four action, Robert Morris finished second with a time of 8:49.99. Heastings was again the coxswain, and she was joined in the boath by freshmen

Kalyssa Pottgeiser.
"We're very much looking forward to a solid two weeks of time on the water leading up to the MAAC Championships," head coach 
Nelle Stahura said. "It will be exciting to see who much speed we are able to make up."
For the first time ever, the MAAC Championships will be held at Cooper River in Pennsauken, N.J., and will spread over two days. The event begins Saturday, May 12, and concludes Sunday, May 13.
