Moon Township, Pa. – The
Robert Morris University rowing team concluded its 2017-18 campaign Sunday by placing sixth at the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Championships in Pennsauken, N.J.
The Colonials compiled 22 points. Jacksonville claimed its fifth consecutive MAAC championship, winning the Varsity 8 and Second Varsity 8 Grand Finals to conclude the championships with 53 points. Rounding out the top five was Marist (47), Canisius (37), Fairfield (36) and Drake (33).
"We're extremely pleased with today's results," head coach
Nelle Stahura said. "This team is very young, with freshman and novices taking 11 of the 23 seats in our championship boats. We've known from the beginning that this year would be about building for the future, but these young women succeeded in laying a foundation that we are absolutely thrilled to build on this fall."

Faye and Asaro received All-MAAC honors following the championship. The All-MAAC First Team, as well as the second team, is comprised of student-athletes from Varsity 8 boats. Faye was named to the All-MAAC First Team, while Asaro was honored with second team accolades.
The Second Varsity 8 for Robert Morris recorded a time of 8:27.327. A number of rookies made up the boat, including freshmen

In Varsity 4 action, the Colonials finished fourth with a time of 9:03.518, ahead of Canisius (9:14.875) and Drake (9:37.387). The boat consisted of sophomore
