Moon Township, Pa. – The
Robert Morris University rowing team announced eight additions to its novice roster for the 2018-19 season Monday.
Joining the Colonials are freshmen
Sydney Bowie,
Alana Eckels,
Kiera Kotecki,
Samantha Marshall,
Amanda Merritt,
Jayme Sanner,
Margaret Trautz and
Abigail Zeisloft.
"We're really excited about this group of novices," assistant coach
Carol Schoenecker, who is the head coach of the novice program of the Colonials, said. "They demonstrated an amazing amount of potential throughout the tryout period and we're thrilled to watch them continue to grow and gain speed for the remainder of the fall season."
The addition of the new eight student-athletes brings the rookie roster for Robert Morris to 22. The latest additions went through tryouts during the course of the month of September.
RMU opens its fall season Saturday when it competes in the Mercyhurst Classic in Erie, Pa. It marks the start of four fall competitions for the Colonials.
Robert Morris will also host its first invitational under head coach
Nelle Stahura Saturday, Oct. 13, 2018 with the RMU Invitational on Neville Island.
