Matty McConnell, senior forward Malik Petteway and sophomore forward
Charles Bain enters Thursday's game @ St. Francis Brooklyn having combined to shoot 54.2 percent (77-for-142) from the field, including 51.3 percent (20-for-39) from beyond the arc, in their last six games. Combined, the trio have averaged 33.8 points per contest during that stretch.

A Sense Of Calm - Head coach
Andrew Toole appointed the same five student-athletes as starters in each of RMU's first 15 games of the season, as
Matty McConnell,
Jon Williams and
Josh Williams have been penciled in at guard, while
Charles Bain and
Yannis Mendy have started at forward. It's the longest stretch to start a season under Toole with the same starting lineup, and it's also the longest stretch of games at any point during a season in Toole's nine years in which he used the same starting lineup.
Â
Army Reserve - One aspect of head coach
Andrew Toole using the same starting lineup in each of RMU's 15 games in 2018-19 has been the quality of production from the bench. During its perfect 3-0 homestand, the Robert Morris bench outscored the reserves of its opposition, 90-42. The Colonials averaged 30.0 points per game from their bench and overall on the season are receiving an average of 25.0 points per contest from their reserves. Senior forward
Malik Petteway averaged 14.0 points and 8.3 rebounds off the bench in RMU's three-game homestand while shooting 63 percent (17-for-27) from the floor.Â
Â
Close and Late - A common theme in the nine years that head coach
Andrew Toole has been at the helm at Robert Morris has been playing close games late. During Toole's tenure, the Colonials have posted a record of 56-33 (.629) in games decided by five points or less, including a mark of 8-6 (.571) in games decided by just a single point.
Â
Defense Wins Championships - The numbers bear out that following in the footsteps of defending is victories. Thanks to a 62-59 win over Mount St. Mary's (1/5/19), Robert Morris improved to 173-50 (.776) when holding their opponent to under 70 points since the beginning of the 2007-08 season. Under ninth-year head coach
Andrew Toole, RMU owns a mark of 120-42 (.741) when turning the trick. Overall the last 12 years, Robert Morris has held its opponent to under 70 points 56.9 percent (223-of-392) of the time.
Â
Defensively Speaking - Robert Morris has won 13 consecutive games when holding opponents to less than 60 points dating back to the 2016-17 season after a 62-59 win over Mount St. Mary's (1/5/19) that concluded a three-game homestand at the North Athletic Complex. In nine years under
Andrew Toole, the Colonials are 60-7 (.896) when turning the trick. The last loss for RMU when yielding under 60 points was a 48-47 setback @ Mount St. Mary's (1/26/17).
Â
Board Games - Part of following the formula in regard to being successful for RMU over the last 12 seasons has been the program's ability to crash the boards. Since the beginning of the 2007-08 campaign, Robert Morris owns a record of 153-40 (.793) when the Colonials are even or better in rebounding in a game, including a 144-34 (.809) mark when outrebounding their opponent.
