Moon Township, Pa. – A pair of Robert Morris University football student-athletes were honored with Northeast Conference weekly honors Monday, as junior kicker Nick Bisceglia was named NEC Special Teams Player of the Week, while redshirt freshman wide receiver Garrett Houser was tabbed NEC Rookie of the Week.

It marks the second time this season Bisceglia and Houser earned NEC weekly plaudits, as Bisceglia was selected NEC Special Teams Player of the Week Oct. 12, 2019, and Houser was chosen NEC Rookie of the Week Oct. 28, 2019.

The pair earned the accolades after their roles in a 16-14 victory over Sacred Heart (11/23) at Joe Walton Stadium that clinched RMU's first winning season since 2010. Bisceglia connected for three field goals in the win over the Pioneers, hitting from 28, 21 and 35 yards.

Early in the fourth quarter, Bisceglia hit a 21-yard field goal that trimmed RMU's deficit to 14-13. On the ensuing kickoff, Bisceglia placed a perfect on-side kick at the RMU 49-yard line. Eric Sherkel pounced on the ball for Robert Morris, giving the Colonials possession. RMU capitalized, with Bisceglia capping a nine-play drive with a 35-yard field goal.

The performance against Sacred Heart marked the first time in his career Bisceglia converted three field goals in a game, becoming the sixth kicker in program history to accomplish the feat. In 12 games in 2019, Bisceglia tied for the NEC lead in field goals (12) while ranking fifth in points (69).

Bisceglia also finished a perfect 33-for-33 in point after attempts in 2019, and he'll enter his senior campaign in 2020 having converted each of his last 37 opportunities dating back to the 2018 campaign. On his career, Bisceglia ranks fifth in program history with 146 points.

Houser scored RMU's lone touchdown in its win over Sacred Heart, coming through with another big reception. Quarterback George Martin hit Houser in stride in the second quarter, with Houser racing 79 yards to the end zone for the score to tie the game, 7-7, with 11:55 to go before halftime.

In RMU history, Houser is just the third wide receiver to record multiple touchdown receptions of 70 yards or longer, joining former Colonials Tyjuan Massey (2002-05) and Ricky Daldo (2001-03). Houser also caught a 72-yard touchdown pass from Martin in a 24-20 win over Bryant (10/26) at Joe Walton Stadium. In 2019, Houser led the Colonials in touchdown receptions (5) while ranking third in receptions (17) and receiving yards (334).

Led by Bernard Clark, Jr., Robert Morris finished second in the NEC in 2019 after being picked seventh in the NEC Preseason Coaches Poll. The Colonials finished with an overall record of 7-5 (.583), including a mark of 6-1 (.857) in league action.
