PITTSBURGH -- Robert Morris University senior captain Jaycee Gebhard was named the Womens' Hockey Commissioners' Association national Player of the Month after scoring 16 points in eight November games.

Gebhard, the Colonials' all-time No. 2 career scorer with 166 points, netted four goals and added 12 assists as RMU went 7-0-1 over the past month. The Saskatchewan native had points in each of the Colonials' seven consecutive wins to start November, highlighted by a five-point outing against College Hockey America rival Penn State on Nov. 2. She scored multiple points in five of the eight games.

This is the third time Gebhard has been honored on a national level during her prodigious career; she was named WHCA Player of the Month last December, and also earned the association's Rookie of the Year prize as a freshman. Gebhard was also honored by the CHA as the conference's Player of the Month, an honor she's won five times in her career.

After setting a team record with a 51-point junior season, Gebhard is on pace to best that in her final college campaign, as she has 31 points (10g, 21a) in 16 games. Her 1.9 points-per-game average ranks fourth in the nation.

Also, Gebhard is threatening to unseat Brittany Howard '18 atop the program's record books in a couple of categories. Gebhard is tied with Howard for the most assists (102) in team history, and trails Howard by 15 total points for the most accumulated in 15 years of team history.

In addition, freshman goalie Raygan Kirk was anointed as the CHA's Goalie of the Month for November. This is her first such honor as a Colonial.

The Manitoban appeared in seven of RMU's eight games in the month, stopping 146 of 155 shots for a .942 save percentage. She presided over five of the Colonials' seven consecutive wins, including back-to-back shutouts over CHA foes Penn State (30 saves) and Lindenwood (17).

RMU (9-5-2, 4-0-0 CHA) concludes the fall semester with a pair of games against rival Mercyhurst this weekend at the RMU Island Sports Center. Faceoffs are scheduled for 7:05 p.m. Friday and 5:05 p.m. Saturday. Friday is the team's annual Teddy Bear Toss, benefiting cancer patients at Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh.
