Kristýna Malá of the
Robert Morris University softball team was named to the Czech National Team for the 2019 European Championship, which take place Sunday, June 30, through Saturday, July 6, in Ostrava, Czech Republic.
Malá will open play with the Czech Republic June 30 against Lithuania. The Czech Republic will also take on Sweden the same day. The schedule also includes contests against Slovakia (7/1/19) and France (7/1/19) and Belgium (7/2/19).
In her first season with the Colonials, Malá was named to the 2019 Northeast Conference (NEC) All-Rookie Team. In 11 games against league foes, she posted a team-high .417 (10-for-24) batting average to go along with eight runs scored and a pair of doubles.

Malá closed the season by hitting safely in eight of her last 12 games, recording three multi-hit efforts during that stretch. In the second game of a doubleheader against Mount St. Mary's (4/28) at the North Athletic Complex, a 7-4 victory for RMU, Malá finished 3-for-3 with a run and RBI.
Overall on the 2019 season, Malá appeared in 34 games, including 31 starts. She hit .250 (18-for-72) with 10 runs, three doubles and four RBI.
