Kristýna Malá of the
Robert Morris University softball team has made the roster for the team for the World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) Europe/Africa Olympic Qualifier.
The qualifier takes place July 23-27, 2019, at Sportpark de Paperclip in Utrecht, Netherlands. The Czech National Team is one of eight teams to take part in the WBSC Europe/Africa Qualifier, joining Italy, France and Botswana in Group B of the qualifier. Group A consists of Great Britain, South Africa, Spain and the host Netherlands.

Malá played in 11 games for the Czech Republic at the 2019 ESF European Championship, hitting .333 (6-for-18) with nine runs, a pair of doubles, a triple, a home run and a team-high eight RBI. She also led the squad in slugging percentage (.722) as the Czech Republic recorded an overall record of 8-4 (.667).
The Czech Republic will open play in the qualifier Tuesday, July 23, 2019, against France. The schedule also includes Italy (7/24/19) and Botswana (7/25/19) before Super Round action begins.

In her first season at Robert Morris, Malá earned a spot on the
2019 Northeast Conference (NEC) All-Rookie Team. In 11 games against conference opposition, Malá hit a team-high .417 (10-for-24) to go along with eight runs scored and a pair of doubles.
Overall in 2019, Malá played in 34 games, including 31 starts, recording a .250 (18-for-72) average with 10 runs, three doubles and four RBI. She closed the year by hitting safely in eight of her last 12 games, recording three multi-hit efforts during that stretch.
