Moon Township, Pa. – According to a poll of Northeast Conference (NEC) head coaches, the Robert Morris University track & field team has been picked to finish seventh in the conference for the 2020 indoor season.

Picked as the favorite was Fairleigh Dickinson, which earned a pair of first-place votes. Long Island (LIU), Mount St. Mary's, Central Connecticut and Sacred Heart round out the top five. The Sharks earned three first-place tallies, while the Mount garnered the most with four. The Blue Devils also earned a first-place nod, as well as Saint Francis U, which was selected to finish sixth in the poll.

Caitlin Cotter is in her fifth season leading the Colonials in 2019-20. She helped RMU eclipse 90 points at the NEC Indoor Track & Field Championships for just the second time in 15 years when the Colonials scored 93 points at the 2018 indoor championships en route to a third-place finish.

Robert Morris will be led in the sprints by redshirt senior Madison Mueseler and senior Anna Chasovskaia. In the 600-meter, Chasovskaia owns the indoor school record with a time of 1:38.66, which she set in 2018 at the SPIRE Indoor Classic. Chasovskaia also won the individual title in the 500-meter at the 2018 NEC indoor championships en route to All-NEC First Team plaudits.

The Colonials will also be bolstered by junior Estelle Katende, who is a three-time All-NEC honoree. Named to the 2018 All-NEC Rookie Team as well as the 2018 All-NEC Second Team in the shot put, Katende won the individual championship in the event at the 2019 NEC indoor championships to earn first team accolades. She owns the indoor school record in the shot put with a toss of 15.16 meters (49'9") that she posted at the 2019 NEC indoor track & field championships.

RMU opened its indoor season by taking part in the YSU Icebreaker and returns to action Friday, Jan. 17, by again traveling to Youngstown, Ohio, for the YSU Invitational.
