Moon Township, Pa. – The RMU men's basketball program announced Wednesday that guard Tristian Jeffries has signed a National Letter of Intent (NLI) with the Colonials. Jeffries, a native of Jersey City, N.J., and a graduate of St. Thomas Aquinas High School, is the first to sign with the Colonials as part of the Class of 2021.

Andrew Toole said. "He's a physical student-athlete that can score in a variety of ways and also has the ability to be a presence on both ends of the floor. He's active, can slash and can rebound. We're looking forward to watching him develop in an RMU uniform."
In 15 games in 2019-20, the 6'6", 185-pound Jeffries averaged 13.6 points, 6.5 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 2.6 steals per game while converting over 50 percent of his opportunities from the floor. He also played AAU basketball for NY Jayhawks.

The Colonials finished with an overall record of 20-14 (.585) in 2019-20, the fifth time in 10 seasons under Toole RMU eclipsed the 20-win plateau. RMU claimed its ninth NCAA Tournament automatic bid in 2020 thanks to a 77-67 triumph over Saint Francis U in the 2020 Northeast Conference (NEC) Tournament championship game at the UPMC Events Center.
Since the beginning of the 2007-08 season, a span of 13 years, RMU has recorded an overall record of 261-185 (.585), an average of 20.1 wins per season. During that stretch the Colonials have earned four automatic bids to the NCAA Tournament (2009, 2010, 2015, 2020), played in the National Invitation Tournament (NIT) three times (2008, 2013, 2014) and played in the CollegeInsider.com Postseason Tournament (CIT) twice (2012, 2019).
RMU opens its 2020-21 campaign by hosting Point Park Wednesday, Nov. 25, at the UPMC Events Center. The Colonials, who joined the Horizon League July 1, 2020, were
picked to finish fourth in the league according to a poll of head coaches, communication professionals and media members.
