Caleb Lewis has signed a contract with the Duke City Gladiators of the Indoor Football League (IFL). Duke City began play in 2015 as a member of the Champions Indoor Football (CIF) League, and the organization joined the IFL in August of 2019.
Lewis, a native of Lakeland, Fla., spent the last two seasons with the Colonials after transferring from Louisiana State University (LSU). He appeared in 10 career games for RMU, completing 52.3 percent (45-for-86) of his passes for 610 yards and five touchdowns.
During the 2019 campaign, Lewis was instrumental in helping the Colonials snap a 21-game road losing streak when he got the start under center in a 31-21 victory @ VMI (9/21/19). He finished 12-for-17 passing on the afternoon in the win over the Keydets, racking up 214 yards through the air and completing a 15-yard touchdown pass to
Garrett Houser that gave RMU a 14-3 lead en route to the win.

Two weeks later, Lewis helped the Colonials snap another streak, as RMU picked up its first win in league play since 2016 with a 20-17 overtime win @ Saint Francis (10/12/19). Lewis finished 9-for-22 passing for 152 yards and two touchdowns in the triumph, including a 13-yard scoring strike to tight end
Matthew Gonzalez with 45 seconds left in regulation to tie the game, 17-17, and send it to overtime.
Overall on the 2019 season in helping lead the Colonials to an overall record of 7-5 (.583), including a mark of 6-1 (.857) in the Northeast Conference (NEC), Lewis finished 36-for-66 passing for 545 yards and five touchdowns against just two interceptions.
RMU, led by head coach
Bernard Clark, Jr., will play a five-game schedule in the spring of 2021, beginning with a non-conference game @ James Madison Saturday, Feb. 27. The Colonials will also play four games in their first season as an associate member of the Big South, which includes home contests against Monmouth (3/13/21) and Gardner-Webb (4/10/21).
