Moon Township, Pa. – The RMU golf team opened play in the Towson Fall Invitational Saturday in Grasonville, Md., at Prospect Bay Country Club. Playing 36 holes Saturday, the Colonials carded a score of 594 (-2) and sit in first place entering Sunday's third and final round, seven strokes ahead of the host Tigers and Howard, which each finished at 581 (+5).
RECORD BREAKER
Junior
Josh Nagy put together a round for the record book to open the Towson Fall Invitational, recording seven birdies en route to a 65 (-7) in the first round to help bolster the Colonials. Nagy is the fourth different RMU student-athlete to post a 65, the lowest round in program history. The last to turn the trick was Ryan Prokay (2011-15) at the 26th annual Leo Keenan Invitational at St. Bonaventure Sept. 14, 2015. Where Nagy separates himself, however, is by establishing a new school record for shots under par in a round. Four other Colonials had finished a round five under, with Nagy besting that by two strokes. A look at each of the four rounds in program history at 65 …
