Moon Township, Pa. – The Horizon League announced Wednesday the league's television schedule for the 2021-22 men's basketball season. A total of eight Horizon League matchups will air on ESPN linear networks, including five during the regular season. In addition, three games this season are considered "wild card" selections to ensure the best possible matchup.
The RMU men's basketball team will open the Horizon League television schedule Saturday, Dec. 4, as its conference opener at Milwaukee will air live on ESPNU. Tip time is slated for Noon ET. The Colonials have also been chosen for a pair of wild card games, with their Friday, Jan. 7, tilt against Cleveland State at the UPMC Events Center a possible matchup on ESPN2 as well as RMU's Friday, Feb. 11, contest against Oakland a possible game to be aired live on ESPNU.
Tip times for each of RMU's 14 home games at the UPMC Events Center for the 2021-22 season have also been set. A total of 13 of the 14 contests will tip at 7:00 p.m., with the lone exception when RMU hosts Purdue Fort Wayne Sunday, Jan. 9. Tip time between the Colonials and Mastodons is 1:00 p.m.

Each game as part of the Horizon League television package will be a part of the league's "Anything Can Happen On Friday" campaign. Fans can follow along on social media by using #HLMBBonESPN. During the 2020-21 season, the average margin of victory during the campaign was just over six points per contest, with two games decided at the buzzer.
Continuing a relationship that began with the 1988 Midwestern Collegiate Conference men's basketball championship game, the entire Horizon League men's basketball championship in Indianapolis, Ind., will appear on ESPN linear networks from Indiana Farmers Coliseum. The semifinals of the 2022 tournament will air at 7:00 p.m. and 9:30 p.m., respectively, with both games on either ESPN2 or ESPNU. The 2022 Horizon League Tournament championship game Tuesday, March 8, will be shown on either ESPN or ESPN2 at 7:00 p.m.

Andrew Toole, the Colonials return two starters in 2021-22, including senior forward
Kahliel Spear and sophomore guard
Kam Farris. Spear averaged 9.9 points and 5.2 rebounds last season while pacing the Colonials in blocks (23). Farris scored at an 8.3 points per game clip for RMU in 2020-21, converting 46.1 percent (35-for-76) of his attempts from beyond the arc.
The roster for the 2021-22 campaign for RMU features nine newcomers, including graduate transfers
Rasheem Dunn and
Ferron Flavors, Jr. The Colonials open the 2021-22 season Tuesday, Nov. 10, at Central Florida and will host Mount St. Mary's Friday, Nov. 19, at 7:00 p.m. to open their home slate.
Season tickets for the
2021-22 season are on sale now and can be purchased by calling the RMU Ticket Office at (412) 397-4949. All season tickets are $100 with a minimum donation to the RMU Athletics general fund. Season tickets may be purchased for courtside, the Eat'n Park Club, center court premium, side court, baseline and upper sideline.
