The All-Time Series (Davidson) – The Colonials and Wildcats are meeting for the first time on the hardwood Saturday. Davidson is one of five opponents on RMU's 2021-22 schedule the Colonials are facing for the first time this season, joining
UCF, Green Bay, Lancaster Bible and IUPUI.
Mount St. Mary's Notes – The win for the Mount tied the all-time series between the two programs at 36-36 (.500) ... RMU held Mount St. Mary's to a shooting percentage of 24.2 percent (8-for-33) in the first half but the Mount erased a 17-point deficit by shooting 65 percent (13-for-20) in the second half ... The Mount held a 44-38 edge in rebounding, including a 12-11 advantage on the offensive glass ... Jalen Benjamin of the Mount garnered game-high scoring honors with 19 points on the strength of a 9-for-10 performance at the free-throw line.

The Anatomy Of Overtime – RMU has been to overtime 20 times under RMU Pat Gallagher Head Coach
Andrew Toole in his 12 years leading the Colonials. Under Toole, RMU owns a mark of 10-10 (.500) when heading to the extra frame after dropping a 74-70 decision to Mount St. Mary's (11/19/21) in its 2021-22 home opener at the UPMC Events Center. All-time in program history, RMU has posted a record of 32-32 (.500) when playing free basketball. When playing a second round of overtime, the Colonials have recorded a mark of 4-5 (.444) in 46 years as an NCAA Division I program, including 1-1 (.500) under Toole.

All Along The Watchtower – Kahliel Spear has opened the 2021-22 season with consistent play from the forward spot, as he tied a career high with 22 points @ Ohio (11/15/21) while also registering his first double-double of the year against Mount St. Mary's (11/19/21) with 14 points and 11 rebounds. Spear originally established a career high in scoring with 22 points @ Detroit Mercy (2/25/21) in the first round of the 2021 Horizon League Tournament. Dating back to last season, Spear has reached double figures in scoring in six consecutive games, producing averages of 14.7 points, 6.8 rebounds and 1.0 block during that stretch while shooting 50.7 percent (35-for-69) from the floor.

Kahliel Spear has gotten off to a solid start for the Colonials this year, senior forward
Jaron Williams has given RMU a spark as the first option of the bench. Williams enters Saturday's game @ Davidson having converted 70.6 percent (12-for-17) of his shots from the field the last two games. He posted a season-high 19 points off the bench @ Ohio (11/15/21) and contributed nine points, three rebounds and three assists against Mount St. Mary's (11/19/21).

Call To The Hall – Former forward Lucky Jones (2011-15) will be enshrined in the RMU Athletic Hall of Fame Friday, Feb. 11, 2022, at a dinner in the conference center of the UPMC Events Center. Jones, a native of Newark, N.J., is one of six former student-athletes that make up the Class of 2021,
the 30th class to be inducted into the RMU Athletic Hall of Fame. One of the most success student-athletes in program history, Jones helped lead the Colonials to a postseason tournament in each of his four years at RMU. He helped lead the Colonials to a pair of wins in the 2012 CollegeInisder.com Postseason Tournament (CIT), victories over Kentucky (2013) and St. John's (2014) in the NIT and a triumph over North Florida in the 2015 NCAA Tournament. Jones concluded his career as the program's all-time leading rebounder with 846 career boards while finishing with 1,642 points.
