Opening Tip

 
- The RMU men's basketball team returns to the UPMC Events Center for just its second home game of the 2021-22 season Wednesday by hosting Lancaster Bible in a 7:00 p.m. tip. It marks the first of two straight at home, as the Colonials will also welcome Florida Gulf Coast Saturday, Dec. 11.
 
- RMU concluded a two-game swing to open up Horizon League play with a 77-69 loss @ Milwaukee (12/4/21). Fifth-year guard Rasheem Dunn paced the Colonials with a season-high 21 points and also added six rebounds, six assists and two steals.
 
- In his first start of the 2021-22 season, sophomore guard Kam Farris chipped in 14 points and three rebounds against the Panthers, while senior forward Kahliel Spear contributed 10 points, seven rebounds and a block.
 
- The Colonials opened their Horizon League slate with a 70-58 setback @ Green Bay (12/2/21) in the first-ever meeting between the two programs. Fifth-year guard Rasheem Dunn paced RMU with 17 points and added four rebounds, four assists and a pair of steals.
 
- Forward Justin Winston scored a season-high 16 points for the Colonials against the Phoenix, converting six of his 10 shots from the field, including a 3-for-5 performance from beyond the arc.
 
- RMU wrapped up the month of November with an 88-70 setback @ Davidson (11/27/21). Senior forward Kahliel Spear paced the Colonials against the Wildcats with 15 points while also registering nine rebounds, two assists, a block and a steal.
 
- Senior forward Jaron Williams earned his first start for the Colonials against the Wildcats and supplied 13 points, three rebounds and a pair of assists, while sophomore guard Kam Farris made his 2021-22 season debut, scoring 11 points off the bench and dishing out three dimes.
 
- RMU concluded play in the Kentucky Classic by dropping its 2021-22 home opener in overtime, a 74-70 decision against Mount St. Mary's (11/19/21) at the UPMC Events Center. Fifth-year guard Rasheem Dunn led the Colonials with 18 points and also added five rebounds and a pair of steals.
 
- Five of RMU's last six games at the UPMC Events Center dating back to the 2020-21 season have gone to overtime, including one that has gone to double overtime. The Colonials are 1-4 (.200) in those contests.
 
- Senior forward Kahliel Spear recorded his first double-double of the season against the Mount, compiling 14 points and 11 rebounds. Junior guard Michael Green III added 11 points and five assists.

The All-Time Series (Lancaster Bible) –
The Colonials and Chargers are meeting for the first time on the hardwood Wednesday. Lancaster Bible is one of five opponents on RMU's 2021-22 schedule RMU is facing for the first time this season, joining UCF, Davidson, Green Bay and IUPUI.
 
Milwaukee Notes – The Panthers grabbed a 3-1 (.750) advantage in the all-time series against the Colonials with the victory ... Patrick Baldwin, Jr., garnered game-high honors in scoring for Milwaukee with 26 points and also added seven rebounds and three assists ... The Panthers held a 35-28 advantage in rebounding, including an edge of 10-8 on the offensive glass ... Of the seven rebounds for senior forward Kahliel Spear, three came via offensive boards ... Milwaukee notched 22 assists on its 26 field goals, with Jordan Lathon dishing out 10 dimes.
 
Crocodile Dundee –
Fifth-year guard Rasheem Dunn has settled into his role with the Colonials and has been a consistent producer for RMU over the last few weeks. Entering Wednesday's game against Lancaster Bible, Dunn is averaging 15.0 points, 3.5 assists and 1.5 steals over his last four games. Dunn is coming off a performance @ Milwaukee (12/4/21) in which he established season highs in points (21), rebounds (6) and assists (6). Dunn has dished out at least three assists in five of RMU's seven games and ranks 10th in the Horizon League in assists at 3.14 per game.
 
Booster Shot – Sophomore guard Kam Farris has returned to the rotation for the Colonials after missing the first four games of the 2021-22 season due to injury has provided a spark offensively, especially when converting from beyond the three-point line. In the last three games, Farris has knocked down eight of his 12 attempts from beyond the arc, a success rate of 66.7 percent, in averaging 10.0 points per game. As a team, RMU has converted 35.4 percent (46-for-130) of its attempts from deep, which is tied with Northern Kentucky atop the Horizon League leaderboard. The Norse have converted 68 of their 192 attempts in seven games. 
 
Toe The Line – Fifth-year guard Rasheem Dunn and senior forward Kahliel Spear have each done a solid job getting to the free-throw line for the Colonials this season, as the duo enter Wednesday's game against Lancaster Bible having owning 66.3 percent (67-of-101) of RMU's attempts at the free-throw line in 2021-22. Dunn has converted 76.3 percent (29-for-38) of his opportunities, which ranks 11th in the Horizon League, while Spear has been successful on 75.9 percent (22-for-29) of his chances, which ranks 12th in the circuit. As a team, RMU ranks seventh in the Horizon League at 74.3 percent (75-for-101).
 
Did You Know? Senior forward Kahliel Spear has rejected 30 shots in 25 games in an RMU uniform, an average of 1.2 per contest. In four seasons at the NCAA Division I level, Spear owns 60 rejections. Through seven games, Spear owns seven blocks and ranks ninth in the Horizon League with one rejection per game.
 
Three's Company – RMU is 55-22 (.714) in 12 seasons under RMU Pat Gallagher Head Coach Andrew Toole when hitting at least 10 three-pointers in a game. The Colonials knocked down a season-high 10 triples @ Milwaukee (12/4/21) in wrapping up a two-game road swing that opened Horizon League play. Five different Colonials knocked down a triple against the Panthers, including a combined 7-for-11 performance from guards Kam Farris and Rasheem Dunn.
