Robert Morris earned its first ever Horizon League win last week with a 4-2 victory over Purdue Fort Wayne at SouthPointe Fieldhouse to improve to 1-3 on the season.
An offensive explosion saw RMU score multiple goals in a HL game for the first time all season as Kayla Veloso-Lima, Ylexus Gilliland, Brittany O'Connell and Sofie Lien Fagereng each netted their first of the season for the Colonials in the win.

- Head Coach Chris Shaw earned his first official career win at RMU last weekend against PFW.
- RMU sports a balanced roster in terms of class distribution, consisting on five freshman, seven sophomores, seven total juniors and three seniors.
- Shaw takes over in his first year at the helm of Robert Morris in 2021. Shaw spent the last six years as the head coach at the University of Nevada Las Vegas (UNLV), compiling an overall record of 66-48-9 (.573), the winningest coach in program history.
- The Colonials will play their 2021 home schedule away from campus in 2021, hosting games at the indoor facilities of the SouthPoint Fieldhouse.
- Amongst their new Horizon League foes, the Colonials have never faced Detroit Mercy or Oakland, before, though they did face off against the Titans in pre-season play a year ago. Youngstown State has been a familiar opponent for RMU as the two squads have squared off 38 times overall and at least once in each of the previous nine seasons.
SCOUTING THE GOLDEN GRIZZLIES
Oakland sits at 2-2-1 overall on the season and is coming off of a 2-0 shutout win over Detroit Mercy last Wednesday on the road.
A preseason pick to finish fifth overall in the Horizon League table, the Golden Grizzlies have had a somewhat puzzling run of success in 2021, going 2-0-1 on the road but are still without a win (0-2) in Rochester this season.
Oakland has scored seven goals from seven different goalscorers this season. Junior mid Sami Lopez leads them in overall scoring with seven points.
