Moon Township, Pa. – The RMU rowing team continued its 2021 campaign Saturday by competing against West Virginia on the Monongahela River in Morgantown, W.Va.
MOMENTS THAT MATTERED
In a non-scored competition, both the RMU Varsity 8 and Second Varsity 8 went head-to-head against West Virginia in a series 3', 2' and 1' set pieces, while the Varsity 4 and Novice 8 competed against the Varsity 4 of the Mountaineers. Each of the stages modeled a normal 2K race and also included starts and sprints.
QUOTABLE
"The opportunity to discuss and make race plan modifications between pieces is huge as we come closer to championship weekend," RMU head coach
Carol Schoenecker said. "We had almost perfect conditions today, and it's always good going up against quality competition."
UP NEXT
RMU will host Duquesne from the McPhail Boathouse Saturday, May 8, in its final competition before the 2021 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Championships.
