Moon Township, Pa. – The RMU men's golf program, under the direction of 21st-year head coach Jerry Stone, has announced its 2021 fall schedule consisting of five tournaments.
RMU will begin the fall slate at the Joe Feaganes Marshall Invitational on Sept. 13-14, its long tournament in September. Held at Gayan Golf & Country Club in Huntingdon, W.Va., the Colonials will play 36 holes on Monday before finishing up with 18 on Tuesday. RMU faced the host Thundering Herd twice this past spring at the Mountaineer Invitational and Wright State Invitational, but has never played in Marshall's home tournament.
October is a busy month for the Colonials, starting with the Tom Tontimonia Invitational on Oct. 4-5. Cleveland State's tournament is hosted at Lakewood Country Club in Westlake, Ohio, and will consist of a 36-hole Monday followed by an 18-hole Tuesday. This is RMU's 13th appearance in a CSU-hosted event in 14 seasons – with the abbreviated 2020-21 season being the outlier over that stretch – and its best finish is a tie for fifth out of 12 teams in 2014-15.
The Colonials will then travel across the state on Oct. 10-12 for the three-day, 54-hole Bucknell Invitational. Held at Bucknell University Golf Club in Lewisburg, Pa., this will mark the third straight season that RMU has participated in Bucknell's home tournament and the fifth time since 2015-16. The Colonials finished third out of 10 teams in the Carpetbagger Classic last March, and captured the team title at the 2015 Bucknell Invitational with a 36-hole tally of 574 (+14).
RMU's final competition in October is the Towson Fall Invitational on Oct. 23-24. The Colonials are the reigning champions of the event, winning the rain-shortened 2019 edition with an 18-hole score of 289 (+1). RMU also brought home the medalist trophy thanks to Max Palmer, who shot a 68 (-4) to earn the first individual win of his career. Held again at Prospect Bay Golf Club in Grasonville, Md., this year's event is scheduled for 36 holes on Saturday before finishing with 18 on Sunday.
The fall slate concludes on Nov. 1-2 at the Metropolitan Intercollegiate Championship. Hosted by Wagner at Montclair Golf Club in West Orange, N.J., this event is the shortest on the schedule at 36 holes. The Colonials last played in Wagner's home tournament in 2014-15, sweeping the team and individual titles. RMU posted a 600 (+24) to capture the team trophy, and Matt Gurska fired a two-day tally of 139 (-5) to win medalist honors.

Under Stone, RMU has won 23 competitions and made a pair of NCAA Regionals in 2015 and 2019. The Colonials finished fifth in their debut Horizon League campaign in 2020-21, and are slated to return 11 student-athletes in 2021-22 – highlighted by rising senior Chase Miller, who led the team with a 75.5 stroke average and three top-10 finishes over the abbreviated season.
