SCOUTING THE BONNIES

Thursday will be just the third all-time meeting between the Colonials and the Bonnies in program history, and the first since a 0-0 tie back during the 2014 campaign.

St. Bonaventure has twice seen action already this season, kicking things off with a 0-0 draw against Canisius before dropping a 2-1 contest against Iona at home last Sunday.

The Bonnies went 0-8 during the spring season, playing a limited schedule consisting of three games against Duquesne, three against Dayton and two against St. Louis.

The Brown and White return 21 members of last season's roster and welcome 10 newcomers to the team for the 2021 season.

SCOUTING THE BEACONS

Valparaiso has faced off against Robert Morris just once before, a 4-2 win over the Colonials in Indiana during the 2018 season.

They currently sit a 1-1 on the season, dropping their season opener to Indiana 1-0 before managing a 3-1 victory over Ball State in their home opener last Sunday.

Preseason picks to finish fourth overall in the MVC preseason Coaches Poll, ValPo went 5-4-5 overall in the spring, their best overall mark since the 2014 campaign.

Valpo also placed three players on the preseason All-MVC teams, including First Team selections Nikki Coryell and Kiley Dugan, while Kelsie James earned a spot on the Honorable Mention preseason squad as well.

NEXT UP

The Colonials get ready for another home/road split next week when they travel to Loretto, Pa. for a showdown with Saint Francis University on Thursday at 3:00 p.m. before returning home to host Canisius at the NAC Sunday at 1:00 p.m.
