LAST TIME OUT
Robert Morris dropped a pair of tight-fought games at the North Athletic Complex last week, giving up the go-ahead goal in the 88' against Xavier on Wednesday to lose 1-0 before a 2-1 loss to the Milwaukee Panthers on Saturday.
Tom Akinola scored his first career NCAA goal for RMU in the loss to the Panthers.
STATS TO KNOW
Akinola became the fourth Colonial to score his first collegiate goal this season, joining Bryan Akongo, Gal Ben Dayan and Owen Jowett who have all found the back of the nest for the first time this year.
At 1-1 in Horizon League play, the Colonials are currently in a six-way tie for second place in the league table with three total points, trailing Cleveland State and Milwaukee who are each 2-0 in HL play.
TEAM LEADERS
Akinola, Akongo, Ben Dayan and Jowett are currently tied for the team lead in goals with one apiece, while Hugo Kadima and Akongo each have one assist each. Akongo leads them in overall scoring with three points.
Five Colonials have started all four games so far for RMU: Akongo, Jowett, Connor Hain, Kelvin Ramirez, and Jacob Haskins.
Mike Zolnierczyk became the first RMU keeper to earn a win earlier this season and currently sits at 1-2 on the year.
SCOUTING THE RED FLASH
RMU takes on a former NEC foe in SFU who they last faced in November of 2019, a 3-0 loss in Loretto for the Colonials.
RMU is 0-5 in their last five trips to Loretto, with their last win there coming all the way back on November 6, 2009. They are 1-8 in their last nine matchups overall.
Picked to finish third in the 2021 NEC Preseason Coach's Poll, the Flash currently sit at 3-2 overall and are coming off back-to-back wins against Bucknell and Canisius.
Junior forward Jeff Thielman leads SFU in total scoring with two goals and two assists.
SCOUTING THE MASTODONS
A preseason pick to finish ninth in the Horizon League, PFW currently sits at 2-4-1 overall, including an 0-2 mark in conference play following losses to Oakland and Northern Kentucky.
RMU earned its first ever victory as members of the Horizon League against the Mastodons last season, taking down PFW 1-0 at the SouthPointe Fieldhouse last March courtesy of a goal from Miller Masson.
R-Jr. Forward Keith Larson has scored half of PFW's goals this season and leads them in overall scoring with four total points.
