The All-Time Series (Dayton) –
RMU and Dayton meet on the hardwood for just the third time Saturday, with the two teams having split the previous two meetings. The Colonials and Flyers haven't played since 1992, an 82-65 win for Dayton at UD Arena (1/15/92). In that contest the program's all-time leading scorer, Myron Walker (1990-94) scored a game-high 23 points. Walker also scored 22 points to help guide RMU to a 99-94 win over Dayton (12/19/90) in the first game of the all-time series at UD Arena. In that tilt former guard Andre Boyd (1987-91) posted a double-double thanks to a game-high 26 points and 10 assists.

West Virginia Wesleyan Notes – The win over the Bobcats that concluded a two-game homestand at the UPMC Events Center marked the first game in the all-time series between the two programs ... The 17 three-pointers for the Colonials against the Bobcats rank second in the RMU single-game record book, trailing only the 22 in a 104-57 triumph over Mount Aloysius (11/14/18) at the North Athletic Complex ... Darius Green scored a game-high 24 points for WVWC, shooting 9-for-14 from the field, including 3-for-5 from beyond the arc ... RMU posted a 46-20 advantage in points in the paint as well as a 36-9 edge in points off turnovers.

Dynamic Duo – The 2022-23 season is barely two weeks old, but the Colonials look to have a pair that can dial long distance on a consistent basis. Juniors Enoch Cheeks and Josh Corbin enter Saturday's game @ Dayton ranked second and sixth, respectively, in three-point field goal percentage. Cheeks has converted 12 of his first 18 attempts of the year from long range, a success rate of 66.7 percent, while Corbin is 10-for-24 (41.7%) from beyond the arc. Cheeks, meanwhile, ranks third in the Horizon League in early going in field goal percentage (.656), having knocked down 21 of his 32 attempts from the floor.

Offensively Speaking – RMU matched its single-game record for points in a 111-56 victory over West Virginia Wesleyan (11/16/22) that concluded a two-game homestand at the UPMC Events Center. Originally set over 40 years ago, the Colonials established the record thanks to a 111-69 triumph over Ohio Wesleyan (12/1/81), which was played at John Jay Center. It also marks the fifth time that the Colonials have eclipsed the 100-point plateau under RMU Pat Gallagher Head Coach Andrew Toole as well as the 20th time in program history at the NCAA Division I level.

Mo Cheeks – Each student-athlete has its own line of development, and one starting to blossom for RMU is junior guard Enoch Cheeks. Cheeks has paced the Colonials in scoring in each of the first three games of the 2022-23 campaign, scoring 17 @ Ohio State (11/7/22), dropping 20 in an 84-59 win over Pitt Greensburg (11/9/22) and matching a career high with 21 points in a 111-56 victory over West Virginia Wesleyan (11/16/22). Cheeks has now scored in double figures in each of his last five games dating back to last season. During that span he is averaging 18.2 points, 4.0 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 1.6 blocks per contest while shooting 57.7 percent (30-for-52) from the floor.

Defense Wins Championships – The numbers bear out that following in the footsteps of defending is victories. Over the last 16 years, RMU owns a record of 211-59 (.781) when holding opponents under 70 points since the beginning of the 2007-08 season. Thanks to a 111-56 win over West Virginia Wesleyan (11/16/22), the Colonials improved to 160-52 (.755) under 13th-year RMU Pat Gallagher Head Coach Andrew Toole when turning the trick. Overall in the last 16 years, RMU has held its opponent to under 70 points 53.8 percent (269-of-500) of the time.
