The All-Time Series (Wright State) –
Thursday's Horizon League opener between RMU and Wright State is the seventh contest in the all-time series, with the Raiders having won each of the previous six meetings. The Colonials have taken on Wright State four times as a member of the Horizon League, but the all-time series dates back to RMU's first NCAA Division I season in 1976-77. During the 2021-22 season series, the Raiders posted a 75-73 win over RMU at the UPMC Events Center (1/13/22) before concluding the regular season with a 71-61 triumph over the Colonials at the Nutter Center (2/26/22).

Hostilo Hoops Classic Notes – RMU fell in its first-ever meeting with Mercer, while the Colonials slipped to 0-2 all-time against Evansville and 0-3 in the all-time series against South Alabama ... Fifth-year forward Kahliel Spear missed posting three consecutive double-doubles in the tournament by just a rebound ... The Colonials dominated in points in the paint against Mercer, 42-26, but were just 1-for-17 (5.9%) from beyond the arc ... RMU slipped to 8-5 (.615) all-time under Pat Gallagher Head Coach Andrew Toole when playing on a neutral court ... The Colonials finished with six blocks against Mercer, including three by junior guard Enoch Cheeks.

Blast Off – Junior guard Josh Corbin is settling in for the Colonials from downtown. In the 2022-23 season opener @ Ohio State, Corbin was 0-for-6 from beyond the arc. Since? He's converted at a 52.2 percent (24-for-42) clip and enters the Horizon League opener @ Wright State Thursday pacing the league in three-point field goal percentage (.462). Corbin is also one of three student-athletes averaging 3.0 three-point field goals or better per game as #HLMBB play commences. Antoine Davis of Detroit Mercy owns 25 triples in seven games (3.57 per game), Corbin ranks second with 24 in seven contests (3.43) and Bobby Planutis of Purdue Fort Wayne has hit 21 three-pointers in seven games (3.00).

Crosstown Traffic – Fifth-year forward Kahliel Spear owns RMU's active streak for consecutive games (57) and consecutive starts (44) entering the 2022-23 Horizon League slate Thursday @ Wright State. Junior guard Enoch Cheeks had his streaks of consecutive games (44) and starts (37) snapped after missing the final two games of the Hostilo Hoops Community Classic. Next up on the RMU roster behind Spear for consecutive games played is forward Matt Mayers, who has played in each of RMU's 39 games over the last two seasons.

Half & Half – Junior guard Josh Corbin scored a career-high 22 points against Evansville (11/26/22) to pace the Colonials on the strength of a first half in which he was the focal point of the offense. Corbin dropped 20 in the opening 20 minutes against the Purple Aces, converting seven of his 10 shots from the field, including a 6-for-9 performance from beyond the arc. Corbin is the first member of the Colonials to score 20 points in a half since former guard Josh Williams (2015-20) finished with 27 points in the second half of a 98-89 overtime victory over Cornell (3/19/19) at the North Athletic Complex in the first round of the 2019 CollegeInsider.com Postseason Tournament (CIT).
