Moon Township, Pa. – Head coach
Jerry Stone of the RMU golf program announced Monday that the Colonials have inked Peyton Iverson to a National Letter of Intent (NLI). Iverson is the second student-athlete that RMU has signed as part of the Class of 2022, joining
Peter Stassinopoulos, who signed an NLI in December.
"Peyton is one of the top junior players from the state of Texas," Stone said. "He will give us a tremendous amount of depth for the first time in our program's history. A great all-around player and a true student-athlete, we're excited to welcome him to the program."
Iverson, a native of Waco, Texas, is a three-time North Texas Junior PGA winner and twice has finished in the top 10 in points in the North Texas Junior PGA. He has also qualified for the Boys Junior PGA Championships and is a two-time invitee to the Ben Hogan Cup, which takes the top six North Texas Junior PGA golfers.
Led by Stone, who is in his 21st season leading the Colonials, RMU returns to the course with the Abarta Collegiate Invitational, which is hosted by Lafayette and is slated for Sunday, April 10, and Sunday, April 11. The Colonials will compete in Hellertown, Pa., at The Steel Club.
