Moon Township, Pa. – Fifth-year
Keturah Hunter of the RMU track & field team was named to the 2022 Horizon League Outdoor All-Academic Team Thursday. Part of the integrated program at RMU, Hunter is pursuing a Master of Science degree in engineering management and has maintained a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.92.
A total of 20 student-athletes were named to the 2022 #HLTF Outdoor All-Academic Team, while six more were tabbed as honorable mention in voting by Horizon League faculty athletic representatives. It marks the second academic honor of the spring for Hunter, who was also named to the
2022 #HLTF Indoor All-Academic Team in March.
At the 2022 Horizon League Outdoor Track & Field Championships, Hunter helped the Colonials finish fourth as a team by
successfully defending her 2021 outdoor title in the hammer throw. She claimed gold thanks to a toss of 54.58 meters (179'1"), which she posted on her sixth and final throw of the event. Hunter's best throw of the outdoor campaign came at the CMU Invitational (3/26), when she unleashed a distance of 54.93 meters (180'2").

The Horizon League recognizes student-athletes with season All-Academic Teams in each of its 19 championship sports. To be eligible, a student-athlete must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 or higher (based on a 4.00 scale), have completed at least one year at the member institution, having earned 24 semester hour or 36 quarter hour credits, and participate in at least 50 percent of the program's overall contests.
The Colonials are led by head coach
Bryan Delsite, who finished his second year at the helm of the program in 2021-22. RMU finished fifth at both the 2022 #HLTF Indoor and 2022 #HLTF Outdoor Championships.
