Boudreau Tabbed 2022 ASUN Midfielder of the Year

Six Colonials earn ASUN Conference honors in vote of head coaches

Moon Township, Pa. – In a vote of head coaches, fifth-year Jake Boudreau of the RMU men's lacrosse team was named the 2022 ASUN Midfielder of the Year, while a total of six Colonials earned All-ASUN Conference honors.

In addition to being tabbed the 2022 ASUN Midfielder of the Year, Boudreau was named to the 2022 ASUN Conference First Team, along with fifth-year attack Corson Kealey. Senior defenseman Owen Down, freshman defenseman Bo Columbus and senior attack Taggart Clark each earned spots on the 2022 ASUN Conference Second Team, while freshman goaltender Nate Randall was named to the 2022 ASUN All-Freshman Team.

Boudreau was also named to the 2022 ASUN Conference All-Academic Team, along with senior attack Dan Taddeo. Boudreau, a marketing major, has maintained a 3.35 cumulative grade point average (GPA), while Taddeo studies finance and has posted a 3.82 GPA.

Entering the 2022 ASUN Tournament, Boudreau, a native of Brampton, Ontario, is one of six Colonials to start each of RMU's 13 games. He ranks fourth for the Colonials in scoring with 34 points thanks to 16 goals and 18 assists. In 67 career contests at RMU, Boudreau owns 120 points, compiling 62 goals and 58 assists.

Kealey is tied for the team lead in scoring at 54 points thanks to a team-high 43 goals and 11 assists. He has racked up 128 goals and 171 points during his career with the Colonials, with his average of 2.13 goals per game currently ranking third all-time in program history. Kealey also sits third in points, trailing only Ryan Smith (217) and Trevor Moore (195).

Down joins Boudreau and Kealey in starting each of RMU's 13 tilts during the 2022 season and has racked up 29 ground balls and 16 caused turnovers, while Columbus has provided instant impact on defense for the Colonials in his rookie campaign. In 13 games off the bench, Columbus leads RMU in ground balls (63).

Clark is tied with Kealey in scoring for the Colonials entering the 2022 ASUN Tournament with 54 points courtesy of 38 goals and 16 assists. He's also one of eight student-athletes for RMU in 2022 to have recorded at least 20 ground balls.

The reigning ASUN Defensive Player of the Week, Randall earned a spot on the 2022 ASUN All-Freshman Team after posting a record of 5-4 for the Colonials in goal to go along with a 11.71 goals against average and a .515 save percentage. He ranks third in the ASUN in goals against average.

Led by head coach Craig McDonald, who is in his first season leading the Colonials, RMU enters the 2022 ASUN Tournament as the No. 2 seed. The Colonials square off with No. 3 seed Air Force Thursday, May 5, at 5:00 p.m. in Huntsville, Ala.
