Moon Township, Pa. – Robert Morris University men's lacrosse is set to be represented in international competition this August. When the 2022 World Lacrosse Men's U21 World Championship begins on August 10th in Limerick, Ireland, rising junior Bo Columbus will be taking the draws for Team Canada's Under 21 national team.

The Fergus, Ontario, native will serve as the sole faceoff specialist for his country after a standout debut season as a transfer at RMU.
Columbus made his way to Robert Morris after a stellar freshman campaign at Division II Mercyhurst. In 12 games for the Lakers, Columbus only lost 20 faceoffs, going 73-for-93 in the circle.

Upon transferring to Bobby Mo, Columbus served as a crucial factor to Robert Morris' success, never falling below 40% on the faceoff and posting a season-high 80% success rate against Detroit Mercy. The transfer finished his sophomore season ranked 22nd in the nation in faceoff win percentage, as well as the highest FO% in the ASUN conference.

"We are excited for Bo to have this tremendous opportunity to represent his country and compete for a world championship with Team Canada," head coach Craig McDonald stated. "He has worked extremely hard and dedicated himself to improving every day and we are all happy to see all his sacrifices pay off for him. We look forward to watching Bo represent his country and RMU on the world stage."

Volunteer assistant and faceoff specialist coach, Andy Herriott added, "I couldn't be prouder of Bo. He's everything you could want in a faceoff specialist, I'm happy to see he's getting the recognition he's worked for."

Canada will open the tournament on Wednesday, Aug 10, against the United States at noon IST.
