Opening Kick-Off
- The Robert Morris University women's soccer team will welcome IUPUI for their Senior Day game on Saturday, October 21 at 3:00 p.m.
- In their last outing, the Colonials fell to the NKU Norse, 0-1 at the NAC.
- Previously, RMU was down early, 0-1 at Cleveland State. Leading the comeback, Haleigh Finale down the right wing scored a shot through the keeper's legs in the second half. Five minutes later, Elisa Corvalan smashed in the game-winning goal in the 60th minute.
- Goalkeeper Brenna Murray came up big for the Colonials in that match, making four saves, including a stop on a penalty kick, 10 minutes into the game.
- Looking at the Horizon League standings, RMU is third in the conference.
- Assistant coach Brianna Murgi earlier in the week was named to the United Soccer Coaches 30 Under 30 Program.

The All-Time Series (IUPUI) – Since joining the Horizon League in 2020, the Colonials have played against the Jaguars only two times. Back in 2021 was the first game between these two programs. The match ended in a 0-0 tie. Last season, at Indianapolis, Ind., IUPUI came away with a 3-0 victory. RMU will be looking for their first career victory against the opposing program.

Scouting the Jaguars – At the moment, IUPUI is tied fourth in the conference with a 3-1-4 record. On the year they're 9-3-4 overall. Senior forward Emma Antoine is the team's leader in points with five goals and eight assists, totaling 18 points. Freshman Caroline Kelley owns the most goals on the squad with six. Chewing up the most minutes, bolstering the back line, defender Kailyn Smith reached 1,400 minutes after her last game on the season. She's also added one goal and one assist in 2023. Starting in 15 games between the posts, goalkeeper Ashton Kudlo has won seven games this year with five shutouts. The junior owns a 0.95 G.A.A. this season with 63 total saves. After facing the Colonials, IUPUI will host Purdue Fort Wayne as they pursue a playoff berth.

SENIOR DAY
Before Saturday's game, RMU Athletics will be honoring four seniors on the roster, graduating after this season.

Miyu Kojima, a native of Tokyo, Japan, has appeared in 47 career games. She's posted three goals in her career, playing center-mid. Kojima scored the game-winning goal last season in a 2-0 win at La Roche.
Growing up in Moon Township,
Kristi Kania has been a pivotal player for the RMU defense in her career. As a four-year starter, leading the back line, Kania has played in 55 career games with 51 starts. She's registered two assists in her career so far. To date, she's played over 4,300 minutes in a Colonial uniform. A captain for the program, Kania played for the Pittsburgh Riverhounds growing up and won a national title with her club team. She also won back-to-back state titles at Moon Area High School in her junior and senior seasons. Kania was tabbed All-Section in her senior campaign of high school.Â

Transferring to RMU this season, forward
Lidia Nduka is the next senior being honored. A native of Monchengladbach, Germany, she's played in 72 total games in her career, starting in 19. She's produced 15 goals and six assists, totaling 36 career points. Five of her goals have been the game-winning tally. Nduka made an immediate impact scoring six goals in her first five games as a Colonial. Across the Horizon League, she's ranked second in goals with seven and sixth in the conference in points with 15. Over her career, she's logged over 2,400 minutes played.

Finally, the last senior is captain
Kaoru Hayashi, a native of Ama, Japan. She's played in 59 total games, starting in 56 of them in the midfield. She's produced 13 goals and 13 assists, plus five game-winning goals in her collegiate career, totaling 39 points. Ka has logged over 4,700 minutes of playing time. In 2020 and 2021, she was named to the Horizon League All-Conference Second-Team. And, in 2021, tabbed to the United Soccer Coaches All-Region Third-Team. This year, Ka has posted three goals along with five assists, reaching 11 points so far in 2023. Her five assists are tied for fifth-best in the conference.
