University Park, Pa. – The RMU women's hockey team fell, 0-2 at Penn State. RMU falls to 7-10-0 overall on the year and are now 4-3-0 in conference play. Penn State moves up to 9-7-1 overall and 6-1-0 in CHA action.

MOMENTS THAT MATTERED
In the opening period, neither side got on the board.

Penn State threw nine shots on goal through the first 20 minutes as Maggie Hatch made a stop each time. RMU posted five shots during the opening frame.

There were no penalties up until 1:26 left, Penn State earned the first power play of the game.

The Colonials killed off the first 96 seconds of it and the remaining 34 seconds to start the second period.

Getting back to even strength, RMU's Laura Eustace almost scored off a feed from freshman Alyssa Rasmuson. Hitting the side of the net, the Colonials were close to cashing in the first goal of the game.

Across the middle frame, the Nittany Lions earned six power play opportunities, spending a good majority of the period with an extra skater.

RMU's penalty kill unit got to work killing off five of them, but PSU managed to put in a score off the first of their six power plays in the second period.

After killing off the next five penalties, the Colonials received their second man-up opportunity of the game, four and a half minutes into the final frame.

Over the two minutes, RMU didn't score but put forth a quality power play, pacing for three shots on goal.

Before the halfway point of the final period, PSU was able to get one more in with a goal by Tessa St. Janecke.

With seven minutes left, freshman Alaina Giampietro came close to starting the comeback. Rolling into the offensive zone, she snapped a shot off the pipe.

Over the remaining time left on the clock, the Colonials peppered five more shots but weren't able to get one past the home side netminder.
