The All-Time Series (Bellarmine) – Out of all current members of the ASUN, the Colonials have played the Knights the most. In 15 contests, RMU owns an 8-7 overall record against Bellarmine. Since joining the ASUN in 2021 in its inaugural season, the Colonials have won both conference match-ups vs. the Knights. Going back to 2017, RMU and Bellarmine have faced off each season excluding 2020, and have won the past five in a row, outscoring the opposition 69-39.

Last time out, at Bellarmine in the 2022 season, fifth-year attacker Taggart Clark recorded a four-goal game with five points, three ground balls and a caused turnover. In that game, defenseman Owen Down scored his first career goal. James Leary led that team that day in ground balls with seven, and the team went on to win 12-9.

Last time at the Joe Walton Stadium, the Colonials offense exploded to a 17-8 victory. Elliot Holden, a sophomore at the time, paced for three points. Torin Neal and Will Johansen also registered a point each. From 2015 to 2017, in three games facing Bellarmine, Associate Head Coach Adrian Torok-Orban scored six goals and two assists against the Knights.

Scouting the Knights – In the 2023 campaign, Bellarmine holds an 8-3 overall record and 3-2 record in the conference. They're currently on a two-game win streak with wins vs. Air Force and at Lindenwood. Also, in ASUN play, they've beaten Queens and hold two losses at Utah and vs. Mercer.

Junior Kyle Playsted leads the team in points with 56. His 26 goals are the third-most on their roster. Christian Della Rocco and Benny O'Rourk have produced 31 and 29 goals, respectively. Fifth-year defenseman Jacob Berggren owns the most ground balls on the team with 45. Throughout the season, Bellarmine has used three different players in the face-off circle. Gran Guthrie has won the most draws with 57 and a .452-win percentage. The Knights have also used three different goalies, but have started senior JC Higginbotham nine games. He owns a 6-3 record and has made 83 saves with a .485 save percentage. Sophomore Dante Batista was tabbed the winning goalie in two other games.

MILESTONE ALERT
A few Colonials are closing in on some milestones. Fifth-year captain Owen Down heading into Wednesday's contest owns 49 career caused turnovers, making him one away from 50. He also has 85 ground balls in his five-year collegiate career. Long-stick midfielder Johnny Chaisson boasts 87 total ground balls, closing in on the century mark. Face-off specialist Steven Delle-Monache possesses 94 face-off wins already on the season, passing his previous bests in his freshman and sophomore season. Delle-Monache is six away from winning 100 draws in 2023, and has already won over 200 for RMU.
