Moon Township, Pa. – The RMU golf program announced Thursday that Ben Skripac has signed a National Letter of Intent (NLI) with the Colonials.

Skripac, a two-time nominee for the Greater Akron-Canton Boys Golfer of the Year (2021, 2022), was named to the 2022 All-Northeast Ohio First Team and finished 11th individually at the 2022 Ohio State Division I finals. For his efforts he was named the 2022 Suburban League Player of the Year while also claiming the 2022 Suburban League Scholar Athlete Award.

The 2022 season for Skripac came on the heels of a 2021 campaign in which he was named to All-Suburban League First Team as well as the All-Northeast Ohio Second Team. In addition during his prep career, Skripac played for Team Ohio twice at the PGA Junior League National Championship at Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Ariz., appearing as one of 10 players in both 2017 and 2018.

Skripac's father, Chris, also played golf collegiately, earning four letters at Bowling Green State University, posting a top five finish individually at the 1995 Mid-American Conference (MAC) Championships.

Steve Shingledecker, a native of Franklin, Pa., was named head coach of the RMU golf program Wednesday. Shingledecker spent the 2022-23 season as an assistant coach with the Colonials and is also the director of golf operations and instruction at Turn Club in Cranberry Township, Pa.
