Opening Kick-Off
- The Robert Morris women's soccer team is set to take on their first conference opponent, playing PFW on Thursday, September 14 at 7:00 p.m.
- The Colonials ended their non-conference schedule undefeated, with a 6-0-2 record, outscoring opponents, 19-5.
- Last time out, RMU's game ended in a 1-1 draw at Le Moyne. Renae Mohrbacher scored the lone goal off an assist by senior Haleigh Finale.
- In RMU's most previous win, they took down Mount St. Mary's, 3-0. Against the Mount, several players contributed to the offense. Taylor Day led the way with one goal and one assist. Lidia Nduka recorded her seventh goal of the season, and Kaoru Hayashi, Haleigh Finale and Emily Rocco all pitched in one assist each.
- Through eight games, Lidia Nduka is the leading scorer on the team with seven goals. Renae Mohrbacher is one point behind her, as she's produced five goals and three assists. Captain Haleigh Finale leads the squad in assists with four. Goalkeeper Brenna Murray has started in all eight games, achieving six wins, making 28 saves and earning four clean sheets.
- During the first three weeks of the regular season, a women's soccer player has been named a Player of the Week by the Horizon League.
- In Week 1, goalkeeper Brenna Murray was named Defensive Player of the Week for posting two clean sheets, making 10 saves and earning two wins.
- In Week 2, graduate forward Lidia Nduka was tabbed Offensive Player of the Week as she scored three goals in two games.
- In Week 3, sophomore Renae Mohrbacher produced three goals in two games, earning Offensive Player of the Week honors.

The All-Time Series (Purdue Fort Wayne) – Against the Mastodons, the Colonials will be looking to earn their second win all-time against the opposing program. Before entering the Horizon League conference, these two squads played on two occasions. RMU's first win against PFW came back in 2020, when the Colonials hosted, winning 4-2.

Scouting the Mastodons – In 2022, PFW had an overall record of 9-4-6 and were 5-1-4 in conference. Their season ended in the first round of the Horizon League playoffs, losing a close 1-0 game to Youngstown State. On last year's team, Mackenzie Evans and Gigi Ricciardi were the leading scorers, both producing four goals and two assists. Three different players recorded a team-high three assists in the campaign. In net, Samantha Castaneda started and played in all 19 games, earning nine wins and reaching 99 saves on the season. Defensively, the Mastodons were carried on the backline by Isabelle Wissel and Gabrielle Fanning. Both players eclipsed over 1630 minutes for the 2022 season.

So far, in 2023, PFW is 3-3-2 overall. Their game against the Colonials will also be their first conference matchup of the year. The Mastodons have picked up wins against Saint Francis, Southern Indiana and Valparaiso. Their two ties came against Eastern Illinois and Eastern Michigan, and their three losses were to Chicago State, SIUE and Central Michigan. Through eight games, graduate forward Morgan Reitano is the leading scorer with three goals and one assist. Senior forward Rylee Vruggink has a team-high three assists. Castaneda is the team's starting goalie once again, making 31 stops so far this year.

COLONIALS CONTINUE TO CONQUER
Back in 2022, head coach
Chris Shaw and his team went the first eight games of the season without giving up a loss. Their record was 5-0-3. Currently, the 2023 Colonials squad have already surpassed that win total, as they're 6-0-2 through their non-conference schedule to begin the campaign. With a win or tie against the Mastodon's tomorrow night, the Colonials will achieve a new record of nine-straight games to not be dealt a loss to open the season.
