Opening Kick-Off
  • The Robert Morris women's soccer team is set to host their first #HLWSOC game of the season, facing Green Bay on Sunday, September 17 at 12:00 p.m.
  • Previously in the week, RMU dropped their first loss of the season to Purdue Fort Wayne, 0-2. The Colonials outshot the Mastodons, 11-10 and posted more shots on goal, 8-5.
  • In the non-conference portion of the season, RMU went undefeated through the first eight games of the year, posting a 6-0-2 record. They outscored their opposition 19-5 during that stretch.
  • Through nine games, Lidia Nduka is the leading scorer on the team with seven goals. Ranae Mohrbacher is one point behind her, as she's produced five goals and three assists. Captain Haleigh Finale leads the squad in assists with four.
  • During the first three weeks of the regular season, a women's soccer player has been named a Player of the Week by the Horizon League.
    • In Week 1, goalkeeper Brenna Murray was named Defensive Player of the Week for posting two clean sheets, making 10 saves and earning two wins.
    • In Week 2, graduate forward Lidia Nduka was tabbed Offensive Player of the Week as she scored three goals in two games.
    • In Week 3, sophomore Ranae Mohrbacher produced three goals in two games, earning Offensive Player of the Week honors.

The All-Time Series (Green Bay) – For Sunday's game, this will be the third time in history these two programs meet. Both sides never met before entering the Horizon League conference. In the previous two matches, each game ended in a tie. Last season, the game ended scoreless but the Colonials had their chances. They outshot the Phoenix, 17-5 and posted more shots on goal, 9-1. In 2021, at Green Bay, the Colonials tied the Phoenix, 1-1. RMU's lone goal came off the foot of Haleigh Finale off a penalty kick.
 
Scouting the Phoenix – Green Bay's campaign ended last year with a 3-11-2 overall record and were 1-7-2 in conference. Statistically, as a freshman last season, Zoey Pagels led the team in goals with three. Senior Emily Murphy dished out the most assists during the campaign, with three. Defensively, Sierra Morgano in her first-year, started all 16 games and played every single minute. She totaled 1,440 minutes on Green Bay's back line. Mason Annie earned most of the starts in goal, playing in 13 games. She was one save shy of the century mark and earned two wins.
 
So far, in 2023, Green Bay has yet to win a game, going 0-5-2 overall and losing their first Horizon League matchup, 1-nil to Wright State. Through seven games they've been outscored 16-4. Junior defender Elle Hill is the current team leader in points with three, scoring one goal and one assist. Sierra Morgano holds the most assists with two. In goal, time has mainly been split between Payton Lang and Mallorie Benhart. Lang has made 22 saves and Benhart's made 21 stops.
