Opening Kick-Off
- The RMU women's soccer team is set to host another conference game, as they take on Detroit Mercy on Saturday, September 30 at 12:00 p.m.
- Last time out, the Colonials earned a big result, beating Wright State, 4-2 at home.
- Malia Kearns had a career day as she scored four goals. She now owns the program record for most goals (4) and most points (8) recorded in one game.
- Against the Raiders, four different players added assists on Malia's goals. Renae Mohrbacher, Taylor Day, Elisa Corvalan and Julia Becerra all posted one assist.
- Kearns is now the team leader and Horizon League top scorer in goals and points with seven total goals and 17 total points so far in the campaign.
- Sophomore Renae Mohrbacher (6g, 4a, 16p) and graduate forward Lidia Nduka (7g, 1a, 15p) are second and third on the team in points.
- South Park product Haleigh Finale in her senior season, is the squads assist leader with five.
- Playing as the last line of defense, goalkeeper Brenna Murray has offered steady play in net, only allowing 1.01 goals per game on average. She's made 41 saves and won eight games with four clean sheets.

The All-Time Series (Detroit Mercy) – Since joining the Horizon League, RMU has played Detroit Mercy on three occasions. Both programs are 1-1-1 against each other. Last season, the Colonials picked up their first win against the Titans, winning 2-1 at home.
Renae Mohrbacher scored her first career goal in that game.
Elisa Corvalan ended up scoring the game winner in the 83
rd minute. She received an assist from defender
Kristi Kania to earn the result. Back in 2021, the two teams tied, 2-2 at the end of 110 minutes of play, back when overtime was played during the regular season. And, in 2021, RMU ended up dropping a loss, 1-2 in double-overtime.
Kaoru Hayashi scored her first goal of the campaign.

Scouting the Titans – This past season, Detroit Mercy finished 6-10-1 overall and 4-6 in conference games. On the year, Abbey Lodato led the team in points with nine (2g, 5a). Taylor Stanley dished out a team-high five assists. Helping bolster the back line, Hailey Wentzloff played the most minutes for the team (1,515) and also scored one goal. Through the 2022 campaign, they used three different goalies across their 17-game schedule. Senior Jazmine Scott was awarded most of the playing time, featuring in 16 games, recording six wins and 67 saves.

Currently in 2023, the Titans are 4-5-3 overall and have won two and dropped two games in the Horizon League. They put together a 2-1 win over YSU, as well as a 1-0 shutout over Green Bay in their last game. Their two conference losses came between those wins, as they fell to Milwaukee, 0-2 and IUPUI, 1-3. Statistically, Gabby Ketola (2g, 3a) and Abbey Lodato (3g, 1a) both lead the team in points with seven each. Defensively, leading the back line, Ashley Bates has played the most minutes (1,036) and has scored two goals. In net, Detroit Mercy rosters four goalies. Jazmine Scott, the starter from last year remains the #1, playing in 11 games. She's made 35 saves to date and owns all four of the team's wins.

Malia Kearns has made a huge impact for the Colonials. Named to the Horizon League All-Freshman Team in 2022, Kearns is building off her impressive first-year campaign. The talent from Penn-Trafford produced four goals against Wright State is officially a program record for most goals and points in a game. On the season, she has seven goals and three assists, ranking #1 in goals and points in the Horizon League.

Upon her individual effort, she was tabbed Horizon League Offensive Player of the Week honors earlier in the week. She is the fourth Colonial to be selected with the award this season. She was also named an Honorable Mention to the TopDrawerSoccer Team of the Week. Currently, after 30 games played at RMU, Kearns holds nine goals and six assists, totaling 24 career points.
