INDIANAPOLIS – RMU led for over 36 minutes in its 80-63 victory over IUPUI Saturday afternoon at Indiana Farmers Coliseum. With the win, the Colonials (8-12, 4-5 HL) sweep the season series over the Jaguars (6-15, 2-8 HL) and extend their winning streak to three games.
 
1^st HALF
RMU dominated the 1^st half of play, outscoring IUPUI 42-26. The Colonials hit 51.7% of its shots and 46.7% of its 3-pointers. TJ Wainwright had 12 points in 12 minutes of play. A Markeese Hastings layup at 11:16 gave RMU its first double-digit lead at 16-5. The Colonials' advantage would get as high as 18 points on Wainwright's jumper made the score 42-24 with 46 seconds until halftime.


2^nd HALF
The Colonials maintained their double-digit lead through the 2^nd half and made nine 3-pointers on 17 attempts (52.9%). Josh Corbin's 3-pointer with 2:10 to play gave the Colonials their largest lead of the game at 21 points (75-54).


INSIDE THE NUMBERS
Corbin led RMU with 20 points and five assists. Justice Williams scored 17, with 15 of those coming on his career-best five 3-pointers and Wainwright added 16 off the bench. Hastings had nine points and a game-high nine rebounds.
 
IUPUI's Jalen Counter led all scorers with 23 points.
 
RMU had season-bests with 16 3-pointers and at a 50% clip. The Colonials held the edge on the boards 24-21 and scored 18 points off of 12 Jags turnovers. RMU assisted on 20 of its 28 field goals.

Everybody gave effort – and when they do and everybody is defending it makes it so much easier to trust guys going into the game. We had great ball movement and made those extra passes, which is what you need against IUPUI's defense."
