MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. – The RMU men's soccer team will continue Horizon League play this weekend, hosting Wright State on Saturday, October 12, at 12:00 PM.
RECENT FORM
RMU (5-4-2, 2-1-1 #HLMSOC) played two matches last week, earning a 5-1 victory over Canisius in their final non-conference game before falling 2-1 to Purdue Fort Wayne in league action. In the win over Canisius, eight different Colonials contributed offensively. Graduate forward
Chase Gilley led the charge with two goals and an assist, while his brother
Logan Gilley added a goal and an assist of his own. Forwards
Kyler Miller and
Pedro Amadou also tallied two assists each in the dominant performance. Against Purdue Fort Wayne, RMU struck early, with
Chase Gilley netting his team-leading sixth goal of the season off an assist from Logan, though the Colonials ultimately fell short.
HORIZON LEAGUE STANDOUTS
Chase Gilley continues to be a key contributor across the Horizon League. He currently ranks first in game-winning goals (3), second in total goals (6), and third in points (13).
Logan Gilley is tied for second in the league in assists (4). Both players are instrumental as RMU enters this matchup, tied with Wright State for third place in the conference standings with identical overall and conference records.
HISTORY AGAINST WRIGHT STATE
Since their first meeting in 1999, RMU has a 4-5-1 record against Wright State. Last season, the teams battled to a 1-1 draw, with
Kosi Udeh scoring for the Colonials off an assist from
Darren Gray. Senior midfielder
Connor Hain also has an assist in his career against the Raiders.
SCOUTING WRIGHT STATE
Wright State (5-4-2, 2-1-1 #HLMSOC) comes into this game following a 2-1 loss to Green Bay. Senior forward Cole Werthmuller leads the team with seven goals and two assists, while senior midfielder Henry Hutchinson tops the squad with four assists. Junior defender Zakaria Amro has logged the most minutes for the Raiders (952), starting all 11 matches.
