MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. – The RMU women's hockey team fell to No. 14 Princeton in the series finale, 11-1. The Colonials are now 3-5-0 overall.
FIRST PERIOD HIGHLIGHTS
- RMU scored the first goal of the game again, as Alaina Giampietro scored on a breakaway off a long pass from Shayne Desjardins.
- Princeton responded with three goals to end the first period, taking a 3-1 lead.
SECOND PERIOD HIGHLIGHTS
- The Tigers scored four goals during the middle frame with one on the power play and two shorthanded, taking a 7-1 lead into the final period.
THIRD PERIOD HIGHLIGHTS
- In the final period, Princeton added on four more goals to win the game, 11-1.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
Princeton outshot RMU, 54-21. The Tigers finished 2-6 with the man-advantage while the Colonials ended the game 0-5. Princeton also won the faceoff battle, 41-23. RMU blocked a season-high 35 shots in the game with
Allyson Hebert blocking a team-high seven. Offensively, Giampietro cashed in for her first goal of the season. She now owns 34 career points (20-14—34).

RMU will head to Manchester, N.H. next week to play a series against Saint Anselm. The series opener will be played Friday, October 25 at 4:00 PM and the final played the following day with puck drop scheduled for 12:00 PM.
