Lane Named to TopDrawerSoccer Team of the Week

Goalkeeper was named to Horizon League All-Tournament Team

MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. – RMU men's soccer goalkeeper Josh Lane has been named to the TopDrawerSoccer Team of the Week, marking the first national honor of his career.

Lane, a sophomore from Leicester, England, played a pivotal role in securing the Colonials' first Horizon League title. His performance in the postseason included back-to-back clean sheets and eight critical saves, earning him a spot on the All-Tournament Team.

This achievement marks a significant milestone for both Lane and the program, as RMU became the first Horizon League championship team since 2015 to go through the playoffs without conceding a goal.

Since joining the Colonials, Lane has appeared in 23 matches, recording 10 wins, seven shutouts, and 64 saves over two seasons.

Junior defender Victor Thompson also earned recognition as an Honorable Mention on the Team of the Week after scoring the game-winning goal in the Horizon League Championship against Oakland.

Earlier this season, RMU saw defender Tim Koczulap honored as an Honorable Mention twice, while graduate forward Chase Gilley received the same distinction once.

Up next, the Colonials travel to face the University of Michigan in the First Round of the NCAA Tournament on Thursday, November 21, with kickoff set for 6:00 PM.
