FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The First Round of the 2024 Barbasol Horizon League Basketball Championship begins in Indiana for RMU. The Colonials will face Purdue Fort Wayne at the Gates Sports Center on Tuesday, March 5. The game will stream on ESPN+ and fans can hear the hometown call from Chris Shovlin on the RMU Gameday App. Tipoff is at 7 p.m.

RMU (10-21, 6-14 HL) fell to Purdue Fort Wayne 83-65 on March 2. The Colonials are 3-12 on the road this season and are the No. 9 seed in the 2024 Barbasol Horizon League Basketball Championship.

Purdue Fort Wayne (20-11, 11-9 HL) is coming off an 83-65 victory over RMU on March 2. The Mastodons are 10-5 at Gates Sports Center this season and are the No. 8 seed in the 2024 Barbasol Horizon League Basketball Championship.
 
RMU AND PURDUE FORT WAYNE HISTORY
In the eight contests between the two teams, the series is tied 4-4. In the inaugural meeting, the Colonials poured in 102 points, marking the most scored during the Andrew Toole era (later tied vs. Detroit Mercy on 1/17/24). It was also the most the Colonials scored in a conference opener in program history.
 
RMU AND PURDUE FORT WAYNE LAST TIME OUT
In the regular season finale, Purdue Fort Wayne used a 18-1 run in the 2^nd half to defeat RMU 83-65 on March 2 at the Gates Sports Center.
