Bernard Clark, Jr. to be Honored as a 2024 Man of Excellence by New Pittsburgh Courier

MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. - RMU Football Head Coach Bernard Clark, Jr. will be the recipient of a 2024 Men of Excellence Award by the New Pittsburgh Courier newspaper at an induction ceremony on Friday, September 13 at the Wyndham Grand Pittsburgh Downtown.

This event honors African American men from the Greater Pittsburgh area, who are positively impacting the community and working diligently to make a difference. Clark, who is entering his seventh season at the helm of the Colonials' football team, will be one of 50 men recognized.

"It is a great honor to receive the Men of Excellence award presented by the New Pittsburgh Courier, "said Clark. "I am extremely humbled by this. My two favorite women will be there, my wife Tammy and my mother Theresa. I only wish my father was here to see it."

"This is a great honor for Coach Clark," said Vice President and Director of Athletics Chris King '94. "Since he arrived at RMU, he has been an incredible ambassador for the University and the community. We are proud to have Coach Clark lead our football program."

Coach Clark's Colonials open the 2024 season this Saturday, August 31 at Utah State. Kickoff in Logan, Utah is scheduled for 8 p.m. (ET) / 6 p.m. (MT).
