MORGANTOWN, W. Va. – The RMU women's soccer team battled hard but ultimately fell 2-0 to WVU, bringing their season record to 1-3-1.
FIRST HALF HIGHLIGHTS
- WVU got on the board early, scoring in just the third minute of the match. Dilary Heredia-Beltran found the back of the net with assists from Lilly McCarthy and Ajanae Respass.
- RMU defender Emily Rocco made a crucial goal-line save in the 16th minute to keep the deficit at one.
- WVU dominated possession, firing 11 additional shots and earning three corner kicks, but goalkeeper Brenna Murray stood strong, preventing any further goals in the first half.
SECOND HALF HIGHLIGHTS
- WVU struck again early in the second half, with Taylor White extending the lead to 2-0 in the 53rd minute. Ajanae Respass provided her second assist of the match.
- In the 74th minute, RMU's Sophia Belcastro was issued a caution.
- The Mountaineers peppered 13 total shots in the second half.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
WVU prevented RMU from recording a shot throughout the 90 minutes. The Mountaineers tallied 25 shots, with eight on target, and earned seven corner kicks. RMU goalkeeper
