MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. – The RMU men's soccer team prepares for a two-game week with a non-conference match at St. Bonaventure on Tuesday, September 24 at 3:00 PM, followed by a home conference clash against Milwaukee on Saturday, September 28 at 12:00 PM. Tuesday's match at St. Bonaventure will air live on ESPN+.
RMU LATELY
RMU (3-2-2, 1-0-1 #HLMSOC) enters this week following two significant victories, including a 3-0 win over #18 Duquesne and a 3-2 triumph over IU Indy for their first Horizon League win. In the Duquesne match, sophomore
Tim Koczulap recorded his first career goal and added an assist, with
Logan Gilley and
Kosi Udeh also finding the back of the net. Sophomore goalkeeper
Josh Lane secured his second consecutive shutout. Against IU Indy, Koczulap scored again, while
Kyler Miller and
Chase Gilley each contributed goals in the 3-2 win. Udeh provided an assist as well.
ALL-TIME VS. ST. BONAVENTURE
Since 2016, RMU and St. Bonaventure have faced off four times, with both teams holding a 1-1-2 record. RMU's win came in 2016, a 1-0 decision, while St. Bonaventure won 3-2 in 2017. Last year's meeting ended in a 1-1 draw, with
Gabe Norris netting his third goal of the season for RMU, assisted by
Mats Bramer.
SCOUTING ST. BONAVENTURE
St. Bonaventure (2-4-2, 0-0-1 #A10) opened Atlantic 10 play with a 0-0 draw against Fordham. Their two wins came against Canisius and Quinnipiac, both by 2-1 scores. Senior forward Andres Javitt leads the team in goals and assists with two each. Senior defender Xaver Ehrlich has played every minute this season, and junior goalkeeper Nicolas Pucci has one win, one shutout, and 31 saves in seven starts.
ALL-TIME VS. MILWAUKEE
Since RMU joined the Horizon League in 2020, the Colonials have one win against Milwaukee, a 5-0 road victory in 2022.
Chase Gilley scored a hat trick in that match, with assists from
Connor Hain,
Anass Hadran,
Gabe Norris, and
Darren Gray. Milwaukee won last season's matchup, 3-2, with
Kosi Udeh scoring and
Kyler Miller and
Darren Gray recording assists for RMU.
SCOUTING MILWAUKEE
Milwaukee (2-1-3, 0-1-1 #HLMSOC) is seeking its first Horizon League win, having lost to Purdue Fort Wayne (2-0) and tied Wright State (3-3). The Panthers' non-conference wins came against Bradley and Chicago State. Junior forward Alejandro Martinez leads the team with five goals, while senior midfielder Raul Medina has five assists. Mitch Goodman and Jack Wagner have played every minute defensively, while senior goalkeeper Daniel Ibarra has two shutouts and 18 saves in five starts.
